How do I find ‘backhaul’ services or empty lorries?

There are a number of ways. You can search for them on:

1. WhatsApp and Facebook groups
2. “Hot Deals” by TheLorry

To join a backhaul WhatsApp group, here’s what you need to do:

1. Find the WhatsApp group admin from Facebook, Google or mutual friends.
2. Ask the group admin to add you into the group.
3. Here’s an example template to use in the WhatsApp group: “Finding a backhaul lorry from Johor Bahru to Ara Damansara. 3 tonne lorry (17 ft) needed early April. Items: 50 x boxes (10x10x10cm). Please PM best rate”.

For Facebook, you can join a Facebook group such as LORI UNTUK DISEWA and Lori Balik Kosong. You can use the same advertisement template as above.

Using WhatsApp and Facebook may be inconvenient and difficult since you will need to negotiate with each and every driver who gives you a quotation. This may take up a lot of time.
