A lorry also known as a truck in other parts of the world is a vehicle used to transport goods. In Malaysia, there are many types of lorries, from cargo lorry 3-ton to refrigerated trucks. In this article, we explain common types of lorries in Malaysia, where you’ll see them, and what each model is typically used for. A lorry (or ‘truck’ as in some parts of the world) is a motor vehicle designed for transporting goods from one point to another. 1. Cargo

First of all, the most common of them all. We all know cargo lorries are used to transport personal and commercial cargo from point A to point B. 3. Container

Other than that, container is used to transport 20’ or 40’ containers of cargo. These types of lorries can be found near ports such as Port Klang.

4. Flatbed

You’ve probably have seen this around town! Used to transport construction materials such as the concrete segments for the MRT project.

5. Dump/Tipper

Used to transport materials such as sand, gravel or iron ore. Other than that, operators tip the lorry over to unload the materials.

6. Refrigerated

Used to transport perishable goods such as vegetable, cakes and meat.

7. Trailers

In addition, this one mostly used for oversized cargo. Range from 35-40 feet.

8. Cement

Moving on to the cement truck, cement trucks transport concrete mix directly to construction sites.

9. Tow Truck

Usually utilised when your car breaks down on the road.
