The Journey

How it all started

2014

Started in 7th September 2014 with a simple goal to add value to the traditional “lori sewa” (lorry/truck rental) industry with an easy-to-use, booking platform for consumers.​

2015

Raised US$150,000 from KK Fund, grew the team to 10 people and added a Key Account vertical to the service offering.​

2016

Raised US$1.5 million from SPH Ventures and Elixir Capital, expanded operations to Singapore, grew the team to 30, strengthened both House Moving and Key Account verticals.​

2017

Received undisclosed amount from angel investors and family offices and grew the team to 50 people.​

2018

Received funding from Unilever in a strategic investment and expanded operations to Thailand and Indonesia. Won contracts from multinational corporations for Distribution of FMCG and Bulky E-commerce Deliveries.​

2019

Raised US$5.85 million from First Floor Capital together with PNB-Inspire, CSV, ADIF and SPH Ventures. Grew the team to over 100 and added Small & Medium Enterprise Solutions.​

Chee Hau

Co-Founder & Managing Director

Graduated with Bachelor of Business (HONS) from HELP University, Chee Hau is equipped with extensive experience in multiple areas in the logistics industry. He oversees the commercial, operations, and finance planning of the company.

Nadhir Ashafiq

Co-Founder & Executive Director

A degree holder in Accounting and Master’s degree holder in Finance from Curtin University, Nadhir is passionate in creating impact in all of his endeavours. He spearheads Product, Marketing initiatives as well as growth strategy in Thailand and Indonesia at TheLorry.

He currently sits in the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) and Malaysia Innovation Policy Council (MIPC) looking at issues relating to digital economy, entrepreneurship and youth. He is also the Vice President of Persatuan Usahawan & Industry ICT Bumiputera Malaysia (NEF).
