Because house moving is such a hassle, you may forget that you have promised someone to do something somewhere 2 weeks before. Or else you will for sure become more stressed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Make a checklist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We, humans, tend to forget a lot of things. So it would be best to write down everything you need to do before, during and after the moving process. Make things much simpler meh. We made one too! check it out <\/strong>here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Give notice to landlord<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you are renting, please let your landlord know at least 2 months prior. Usually, the landlord will fast-fast tell you what time you should tell him\/her if you want to move out, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Contact you bank, utility companies, insurance, and other concerning parties<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Important weih! They need to know that you are changing your home address! This will ensure that your bills will be mailed to the correct address. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Don\u2019t forget to settle all your bills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Obviously lor. Ensure that all your bills have been paid before moving out. But need to put it here nonetheless or we can forget later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Make sure there is water and power at your new house<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Do a check to ensure that there are water and power available at least one week before you move in. It can be a stressful situation if suddenly you move in and find out the water and electricity will only be available the week after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Do research on moving services<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Face it, you probably won\u2019t be able to carry all of your things by yourself. Get at least 5 quotations from different moving companies and choose the best one (Or you can get an instant quotation online here<\/a> !).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Check to see if your building needs to have special permission for the lorries.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you have any furniture or clothes you no longer need, sell them to friends or online. That extra cash can lessen the burden of hiring movers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the saying goes, failing to plan is planning to fail. Be extra prepared and plan where all the new and old furniture will be at the new house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or if you are feeling a bit cheap, you can try getting boxes for free from any convenience store or supermarket. They usually just throw them away, so they might be able to give some to you with no problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember to wrap your furniture with plastic and bubble wrap to avoid your furniture from being damaged. This is to help protect your furniture during moving<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Always start with packing your storage room first. The storage room usually contains stuff that is already half packed. So do the easy part first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to be damn systematic, try this. Pack things according to where they will go at the new house. Then colour code the boxes according to the living spaces. E.g, living room (blue), master bedroom (red) etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine discovering your plates or bowls breaking. Damn stress weh! This is why when packing, arrange the (clothes wrapped) plates and bowls vertically in the boxes to prevent unwanted movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20. Here\u2019s a genius way to pack your hanged clothes!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cupboards have drawers. And drawers can suddenly slide open when you try to move them. So plastic wrap them tightly!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
