Instead, like many great startups, it began with a simple idea, humble beginnings, and a series of hard-earned lessons from past failures.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"569\" data-end=\"909\">Before launching TheLorry, Nadhir had already attempted a startup that didn\u2019t gain traction. He candidly admitted his mistake: building a product first without talking to customers. This experience taught him that assumptions don&#8217;t build businesses\u2014<strong data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"837\">validation does<\/strong>. That\u2019s where <strong data-start=\"852\" data-end=\"872\">The Lean Startup<\/strong> method became his guiding principle.<\/p>\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\" data-section-id=\"5c42np\" data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"966\"><strong data-start=\"915\" data-end=\"966\">Solving Real Problems in the Logistics Industry<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"968\" data-end=\"1266\">Nadhir noticed a recurring problem while heading a small courier unit in his previous company: <strong data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1109\">booking a lorry was inefficient and opaque<\/strong>. Customers had to call multiple lorry providers just to compare prices. Worse, these providers often changed prices post-job, and trust was a major concern.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1331\">With this in mind, he decided to solve three major pain points:<\/p>\r\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1683\">\r\n<li data-start=\"1332\" data-end=\"1479\">\r\n<p data-start=\"1335\" data-end=\"1479\"><strong data-start=\"1335\" data-end=\"1357\">Price Transparency<\/strong> \u2013 Customers should be able to see real prices from multiple providers instantly, without having to haggle or call around.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1588\">\r\n<p data-start=\"1483\" data-end=\"1588\"><strong data-start=\"1483\" data-end=\"1501\">Safety &amp; Trust<\/strong> \u2013 Only vetted lorry providers with background checks would be allowed on the platform.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li data-start=\"1589\" data-end=\"1683\">\r\n<p data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1683\"><strong data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1609\">Fixed Pricing<\/strong> \u2013 The price quoted online would be final, avoiding last-minute surprises.<\/p>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\" data-section-id=\"lk7e05\" data-start=\"1685\" data-end=\"1720\"><strong data-start=\"1689\" data-end=\"1720\">The MVP Was a Blogspot Site<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"1722\" data-end=\"2110\">Armed with this mission, Nadhir didn&#8217;t wait for perfect tools or capital. He created a <strong data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1833\">simple Blogspot site<\/strong>, used <strong data-start=\"1840\" data-end=\"1851\">Jotform<\/strong> to collect details, and ran <strong data-start=\"1880\" data-end=\"1894\">Google Ads<\/strong> to test demand. Then, he manually brokered lorry bookings while pretending to represent multiple providers (when in reality, he only had one!). Lastly, he added <strong data-start=\"2042\" data-end=\"2060\">dummy listings<\/strong> to simulate choices and validate his assumptions.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"2112\" data-end=\"2256\">Despite the bootstrapped setup, people responded. He achieved his <strong data-start=\"2178\" data-end=\"2224\">goal of 10 paying customers within a month<\/strong>, proving there was a real need.<\/p>\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\" data-section-id=\"uh0b6i\" data-start=\"2258\" data-end=\"2301\"><strong data-start=\"2262\" data-end=\"2301\">Scaling Slowly, Learning Constantly<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"2303\" data-end=\"2649\">With growing demand, Nadhir built a network of real lorry providers, refined the booking system, and eventually launched <a href=\"http:\/\/thelorry.com\/my\"><strong data-start=\"2424\" data-end=\"2443\">TheLorry.com\/my<\/strong> <\/a>as a fully functioning logistics marketplace. Early payments were done via <strong data-start=\"2519\" data-end=\"2539\">Cash on Delivery<\/strong>, but over time, they introduced <strong data-start=\"2572\" data-end=\"2591\">online payments<\/strong> via <strong data-start=\"2596\" data-end=\"2604\">MPay<\/strong>, making transactions easier and more secure.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"2651\" data-end=\"2852\">Even as the platform scaled, customer service remained a core focus. Nadhir knew that <strong data-start=\"2737\" data-end=\"2790\">one bad review on Facebook could damage the brand<\/strong>, so delivering excellent service became the company\u2019s mantra.<\/p>\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify\" data-section-id=\"1jouwme\" data-start=\"2854\" data-end=\"2887\"><strong data-start=\"2858\" data-end=\"2887\">What\u2019s Next for TheLorry?<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" data-start=\"2889\" data-end=\"3106\">At the time of the interview in 2015, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thelorry.com\"><strong>TheLorry<\/strong><\/a> had served <strong data-start=\"2939\" data-end=\"2961\">over 150 customers<\/strong> and averaged <strong data-start=\"2975\" data-end=\"2997\">two bookings a day<\/strong>.
