Load & Route Optimization Algorithm, Milestone -4

A Look into TheLorry's Load & Route Optimization Project Milestone

In May 2020, we partnered with MDEC in the 'Load & Route Optimization' project with the intent of simplifying logistics services for our users and driver-partners.

One year into Covid, most employees welcome the work-from-home policies. This 'new normal' comes not without its challenges, yet we are proud to see our project is running right on track.

In this fourth milestone, we are excited to share and celebrate these achievements with you!

🎉 The simulation showed we saved at least 15% in term of distance and duration traveled

🎉 Conducted UAT (User Acceptance Test)

In 2021, we’ll continue to work on simplifying logistics. We will be sharing more of our journey, ideas, technical works from the team across TheLorry to you. Thank you to Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) for the support in the journey.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Load & Route Optimization Algorithm - part 2

As e-commerce continues to grow, at TheLorry we want to simplify logistics services for our users and brand partners we serve. TheLorry is gearing up for the next revolution. We are excited to launch our load & route optimization prototype solutions to ensure our customers can receive parcels smoothly. What’s more, we are honoured to have the Government of Malaysia and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to be supporting us throughout the project. Stay tuned for more updates as we kickstart our 3rd milestone.

TheLorry is currently doing research to accelerate our Optimization Algorithm with the support of Malaysia Digital Economic Corporation (MDEC).

As TheLorry’s e-commerce b2b segment grows from hundreds to more than thousands of parcels delivery a day, we can no longer cope with conventional route planning and parcel sorting, assigning drivers, and find the best route for each delivery by solely using manual labor alone.

We believe that by developing our in house load and route optimization software would help to reduce the burden of our operation team through automation, reduce our driver-partner operating cost through an effective load and route optimization plan, track the journey of our drivers and increase the satisfaction of our customers by on-time parcels delivery.

At the time of writing, TheLorry already set up a dedicated team to develop and deploy the solution in the time span of 2 years which majority of our talents are locals coming from diverse backgrounds.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to  MDEC for their endless support to TheLorry and to the local tech startup community.
